The story begins on Christmas Eve seven years after the death of business partner Ebenezer Scrooge, Jacob Marley. Scrooge is given the first one (chapter) as a miserly greedy businessman who has no place in his life aside, the compassion, kindness, charity or benevolence. After being warned by the ghost of Marley to change his ways, Scrooge is visited by three ghosts add "each in their turn" to join him in different scenes with the hope of transformation.
